Payment failed
Stripe failed to charge your card at the end of trial or on renewal.
What happens
Stripe retries the card 4 times over 7 days (smart retries). You get an email after each failed attempt. If all 4 attempts fail — the subscription is marked unpaid and the bot stops.
How to fix it
Open **My receptionists** → **Billing & subscriptions** tab → click **Manage in Stripe**. The Stripe-hosted portal lets you update the card (new expiry, new number, or replace the card entirely). Stripe will retry the next scheduled attempt automatically. If you don't want to wait — email ai@raiceptionist.com and we'll trigger a manual retry.
Common decline reasons
• Expired card (check expiry date)
• Insufficient funds
• 3D Secure verification you didn't complete
• Card doesn't support international payments (rAIceptionist bills via Stripe Ireland)
• Bank block on recurring payments — call your bank
